A must for all Chrsitians!

Does this convict you? If I was a Pastor I would play this for the whole Church. Then I would repent of my own lack of anguish.

Something to think about

Last weekend my Wife and I were at a restaurant with her parents and I had an impression that we needed to pray for our waiter. So I told him we would be praying over our meal in a few moments and then asked “Is there anything we could pray for you about?” The language barrier was a little confusing, but finally he said his family.
So we prayed for his family and asked the blessing for our meal. The next day while out to eat with some friends I did it again. The cool thing was as one of us was praying for the waitress; she happened to stop at our table to check on us. So she heard us pray for her!
how often do you go out to eat and never give the waiter or waitress a second thought except at tip time? We don’t know what challenges in life they are facing, however we can show we care by asking them if we can pray for any needs they may have while we are praying for our food. It may even open up a chance to share the gospel with them.
Anyway it’s something to think about.

Let me know what you think?

Hey Guy’s,
A close personal friend of mine has a blog that I was on recently, and he had embedded the audio version of his blog along with the text. I thought it was cool and decided to give it a try.
It doesn’t mean I will do it with every blog, however I think that it adds a little something to the blogging experience. let me know what you think.

The Main thing

Many years ago I heard Peter Lord say: “Keep the main thing, the main thing.” As simple as that sounds it is not always an easy thing to do.  Sometimes I wonder if the Church is missing the mark when it comes to the the “Main Thing” of it’s existence.

Reaching the lost.

Let me explain what I mean. Hunting is something I love to do. In deer hunting there is a temptation you must avoid, the temptation is to focus on counting the points on the antlers and failing to focus on the mechanics of shooting . The main thing is not th

e size of the antlers but bringing the animal down quickly with proper shot placement.

However some hunters get so focused on the size of their trophy they wait to long to shoot, and miss the opportunity, or they

miss the animal all together. Why, because they didn’t keep the “main thing the main thing.”  This is what is happening in allot of Churches today.

Focusing on the three B’s ( Bigger budgets, Bigger buildings, and Bigger crowds) they get their eyes off of the main thing. Evangelism! Sadly some claim that focusing on the three B’s is evangelism. Sadly most of their growth comes from other Christians transferring into their Church from another Church. In order to hide this some Church’s insist that you must be re-baptized in order to be a member. by doing this they falsify their baptism records and make it look like they are reaching the lost.

My point is this. The world around us is going to hell, because we have our eye’s on the size of our trophies and not upon spreading the gospel. If we as ministers will equip our people how to share their faith effectively, and measure growth not by the size of our budgets, buildings, and crowds but by conversions then we are keeping the main thing, the main thing.  We are commanded to make disciples first!  Matthew 28:19.

I am not against the three B’s. I think they are great! Just as long as we remember the reason for the Church’s existence is to do what Jesus did.

Seek and save the lost.

The 5 Principles of Christian Attitude

Attitude! All you have to do is spend a little time in the Corporate world or reading leadership books and you will hear about the power of a positive attitude.
Attitude goes a long way in helping us face challenges in life. For example what makes the difference between a person who survives after being lost in the wilderness, and some one who doesn’t? Often times it the attitude of “I will make it through this!”
We as Christians must develop an attitude that is inline with God’s word if we are going to survive behind enemy lines! I found these five principles in Alvin Reid’s book “Evangelism Handbook” If we develop these principles in our lives as Christians imagine how we can effect the world around us with the gospel of Jesus Christ!

The  Principles of Christian Attitude

1. I am responsible for my attitude.

2. My attitude is either my friend or my enemy.

3. I must constantly correct my attitude.

4. My attitude is contagious.

5. My attitude reflects my Walk with God.
