The imputed righteousness of Christ.3

How do we stand right before God? We do it by faith. When we believe on Jesus Christ His righteousness is imputed to us and we are counted as righteous. It is through Him that we are not only Justified but made right in the sight of God (Made righteous)!

 Rom 4:4-8

4 Now when a man works, his wages are not credited to him as a gift, but as an obligation. 5 However, to the man who does not work but trusts God who justifies the wicked, his faith is credited as righteousness. 6 David says the same thing when he speaks of the blessedness of the man to whom God credits righteousness apart from works:

7 “Blessed are they

whose transgressions are forgiven,

whose sins are covered.

8 Blessed is the man

whose sin the Lord will never count against him.”

NIV

How do we receive this righteousness? We receive it by faith. Gal 3:11-12

11 Clearly no one is justified before God by the law, because, “The righteous will live by faith.”

If we live by faith, we have the righteousness of Christ imputed to us. If we are to live a righteous life then we must start with saving faith in Jesus Christ. His righteousness is supplied to us by God through our faith in Jesus’ sacrificial death.

Rom 3:22

Righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe.

NIV

We can rest in this fact:

Jesus Christ has supplied all we need in regards to righteousness. And there is nothing we can or need to add to it in order to somehow make it better or a more perfect righteousness.
